You did it! A HUGE THANK YOU for carrying the LVC banner in all program cities, and other cities around the nation!   We had a big goal for our inaugural hike, and we think we've raised between $11-15,000, had 57 people sign-up on our hike pages, and engaged many others. With the enthusiasm of LVC hike leaders and those of you who hiked and supported the hike, we met our two goals of bringing people together in 11 locations around the nation, and raising money for the program.  To relive the fun, you can find photos of the hikes in the GALLERY HERE.   And get your hiking shoes ready for  next year's hike, May 19-21, 2023!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF LVC VOLUNTEERS and the LVC program. The program continues because you give.

RELIVE THE FUN

From Barry in Boston: "We had a small turnout for the hike in Boston, but it didn’t prevent us from starting new friendships, great conversation, and enjoyable fellowship!  Temps in the 90s led us to shorten our distance, but it was a great day!”

Hike photo at right is of LVC alumni, Amanda Formica and Barry Friswold.  Amanda’s 3-month old, Mateo, was one of the other “walkers” and added to the fun.  Amanda and Barry look forward to reaching out to other New England alumni for a beer, coffee, or walks in the future.

OTHER NEWS:

  • SERVICE YEAR PARTICIPATION DOWN NATIONWIDE: Trending news is the decline in the number of applicants to programs across the country, with programs closing or going on hiatus.  LVC will have a program in August, though our numbers might reflect this national volunteering depression.  More on this soon.
  • RECRUIT AND REFER:  If you read the headline above this one, you'll see why your referrals are critical this year.  Want to refer up to 5 people to the LVC program?  Simply CLICK HERE to share their names and emails, and we'll send an automatic email message to them connecting them to the LVC volunteer page on our web site. Remember that LVC is not just for new grads, so you can refer friends on sabbatical, retirees, folks in between jobs, and young adults taking a gap year (must be over 21).  This is a GREAT way for you to contribute to the LVC program each year!
