Greetings Friend, Did you know that most LVC Volunteers join because a supporter like you recommends the LVC service year experience to them? I'm writing to ask for your help recruiting Volunteers for the service year starting in August. Applicants started interviewing with prospective Placements in March, eager to be matched with their choices in DC, Baltimore, Wilmington DE, Omaha, and Twin Cities, enthusiastic about living in community with other Volunteers in one of those LVC program cities. Volunteers come to LVC at the suggestion of family, friends, faith institutions, campus ministries and career services -- who know of LVC's programming with a social justice lens, community living simply and sustainably, and exploration of spirituality. Please forward the attached posters to your alma mater, faith institution, and someone you know who might consider social justice service -- new grads, folks in between jobs, on sabbatical, retired -- any life stage where a year of discernment could direct, or redirect, a person's life. To learn more from alumni firsthand, invite them to join LVC alumni and friends at one of the 10 hikes from California to Massachusetts the weekend of May 20-22 (see link below). We hope to see you there, too. Gratefully, Deirdre Bagley, President and the Team at Lutheran Volunteer Corps |
